About Us

Who are we....

The Hope Scholars program is an initiative of Nexus Foundation Australia. Nexus is an innovative charitable institution that seeks to initiate positive and sustainable development programs and to empower all Australians that have a desire to contribute to community development both in Australia and overseas. We aim to assist everyday Australians that have identified needs in communities both here and abroad in addressing them.     Click here to visit the Nexus homepage

What we do....

Through the Hope scholarship program we provide funds to some of the poorest children in the developing world, and disadvantaged young people in Australia. It makes a university education or education at a vocational training centre possible. Many of these children have battled great adversity but have continued to pursue education because they too understand that ‘education can break the cycle of poverty’. Many of these children have studied by candlelight at night after hours of toil others have been able to attend free government schools. But without your support none of these children will be able to pursue a university education. Amazingly it can cost as little as $30 a month over 3 years for an undergraduate education.

Why we do it....

We support and manage this program because we believe that all young people should be afforded the opportunity to pursue an education. We believe that through this initiative that we can support positive social change by supporting the education of young leaders in the developing world, We all share a passion for young people, and believe that empowerment measures can truly transform communities. As noted, our team is largely constituted by educators and students whom possess a collective passion for the education and empowerment of disadvantaged others.

What can you do....

There are many ways in which you can support young scholars in the developing world. While monetary donations are necessary for the continuation of this program, not all have the means to support the initiative this way. There are many other ways to support this initiative and positive social change generally in the developing world beyond the monetary.

Volunteers are central to our work, all nexus/hope scholars staffers are unpaid, un-remunerated volunteers. As such, we would like to invite all those interested in volunteering to contact us at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it
